Hurricane hit Miami, Florida?

I just looked at the news and there was a hurricane that hit Miami, Florida and it killed around 22,000 people and around 44,000 people are missing. Did this happen today?

and don't forget over 200k people died with the tsunami, so 66k isnt all that much.

erm, any amount of people is enough, let alone twenty thousand/ possibly sixty thousand. It only takes one death to affect people. My sister was killed in the 9/11 attacks, the death toll of the attacks weren't anywhere near either cyclone or Katrina. I can't even imagine the devastation.
My heart goes out to the victims.
