Is the Hydor Koralia the best way to go for water movement? For the price is it a better option then buying other more expensive water pumps? Are they very durable or do they hold up over time very well?
I have a 4 foot tank and a 3 makes it all the way across and makes a backtide I would not want a 4 cause yes you can have to much if you do order a 4 I would order 1 at a time cause they are quite powerful
my tank if four foot acroos as well, but i read in a post that you want around 20 times turnover, so if i have a 90 then i want around 1800 gph movement
I have a 110 which is also 4 feet wide, I use a #2 & a #3 Plus 2 filtered powerheads. I plan on putting 1 or 2 more in & remove the bulky powerheads. I like the korilla alot, the magnet mount is so much nicer then the suction cups that lose suction. I was told to have alot of circulation for alot of live rock
i don't have any problem with sand storms, I have mine going towards the LR, and p h higher up It has current but the sand is not disrupted. the hydors,, you can turn them many ways, or use smaller one
I own a 150
I have 2 - 4's on the outside facing towards the front and down
I have one 3 in the middle facing straight Down.
the sand on the middle one is pushed aside, but it is in the back behind Rock so...who cares.
I do have to move some Xenia round b/c the Pumps are pretty strong
For the PRICE...you cannot beat them.
EXCELLENT Stuff.
That is not my only water flow, I have 2-1" Drains about a foot in eatither side of tank at top...I am guessing I am pushing about 4500 GPH
