Hydrometer differences

I have been using the SeaTest since I got my tank. About a week ago, I purchased a new hydrometer by Living Sea. Well, I decided to see the accuracy of these two tests one day and there is a difference by 0.006. The SeaTest hydrometer read 1.026 and the Living Sea hydrometer read 1.020. Which do I follow? Do you know which is more accurate? Please help!!! :D
The SeaTest one is two months old, does age have anything to do with it? How often should we buy a new hydometer to test for salinity.
Thanks for the help. :)

well i have noticed that if you let the seatest hydro sit with water in it for 5 min b-4 you take a reading it is different then if you just dip it and read !!so that is what i do.

Also make sure there are NO bubbles at all on the arm. NONE. Even a tiny one throws the Sea Test off.

make sure you read the instructions on those, most of them are calibrated to one temperature or another. If you want a chart to figure the difference in measurement at a given temp, go look on the FINS resource. they have it spelled out real nice. good luck!

From what I have read, you're best bet would be to get a refractometer for reading your salinity. I automatically calibrates for temp too. They are a bit pricey but if you get one, you'll never have to wonder if your getting a correct reading or not. I have found them on ---- selling in the range for 60.00 to 90.00 new and used. I guess they retail for 150.00 to 200.00. You'll also need one of these babies if you ever have to do a hyposalinity on your fish. You want to be VERY accurate when doing hyposalinity. Hope this helps!?!?
Sharks......
Is this totally correct? Have I done my homework?? LOL
