Hypertek's Shallow LPS Tank

Hi everyone i'm back. It's been awhile but i'm back in the hobby now. Well i just picked up a 30gal breeder and love the shallow tank as my other tank is a 29gal and will be turned into a sps tank. I'll be posting pics of the build as i get them done. So here is the tank.

Ok Ok here is the tank drilled. Originally i was going to do a closed loop on it but then that would require me to drill 3 more extra holes on the back and since the tank is small i've decided not to do the closed loop anymore. My last tank i had so much stuff hanging on the back of the tank that i do not want anything hanging on this tank. It was so ugly looking at all the stuff. So this tank i drilled out the tank to put some custom overflows and i'll be using a 20gal tank as a refugium that will be connected to a 10gal refugium.

I love how small these things are. And i love how they don't do all the way to the bottom of the tank so i'll have more space.

Yes paint after you drill or the paint will chip off. I'm going to paint it tomorrow or saturday. I'll post a pic up when i get it painted. Going to start on the stand next week. Still drawing stuff out. I like my stand a little higher as i hate to bend over to look at tanks.

Make sure u post lots of pics of u working on the stand, I need to build me one as well or buy one. IDK yet... Im to broke to do both

Wow cough cough. Do not paint in your apartment!!! Haha Make sure the windows are open. I'm going to die from the fumes.

So i was standing at wal-mart trying to decide which black to go with. The regular one or the satin?? After about 5 mins i went with the regular. I'm really glad i went with that as it's like the same black look as the overflows. Well here are some pics.
I used Krylon Fusion spray paint

Painting. I sprayed one layer then waited like 5 mins and sprayed another and repeat till i did like 4-5 coats.

Looks nice!!

Hey spiderwoman how are the goblin's fire and raptor's rainbow growing?? I'm having a hard time tracking down the goblin's fire so if you have a frag i'll have to get some from you.

Well i got the wood to build the stand today. Will start on it wed and start posting pics of the stand build.
Here's is the first fish i will be putting in the tank. Anyone have suggestions on the 2nd fish to put in??? I'm looking for rare stuff only. I was thinking of a small mystery wrasse till it grows out. Well if you guys can think of a cool rare fish let me know.

for some fish suggestions i think these are rare but

Assessor flavissimus (Yelllow Assessor basslet)
Assessor macneilli (Blue Assessor basslet)
Bodianus Sanguineus (Sunset/sunrise Wrasse)

Yep that coral in my avatar is mine. It's a micromussa though.
