HYPO for 3 or 4 weeks???

Hyposalinity should be maintained for at least 4 weeks but 6 weeks is preferable. If there is any reinfection of the "Ich" during the treatment, the treatment should be extended to at least 4 weeks after the disappearance of the last cyst.
is this true or is 3 weeks as stated by our modirators ok???

3 weeks at 1.009 after the fish is apparently cured is fine. Considering this may have taken a week from the start to get the salinity down and the trophonts to fall off, and that you have to bring the salinity back up over another week, five weeks for total treatment is common.
Some people used to drop salinity down to 1.015 which was not as effective. Some fish would have been reinfected at this salinity.
