hypo tank

would a filter off of an old fish only tank still be cycled, and work on a hypo tank, or how long should ilet it cycle if not

If the filter is off of a healthy tank, yes you can use it. Also, you can use water from your main tank in your hospital tank to help with the cycle, as long as the quality of that water is good.
