i am trying this hyposalinity on a QT tank of 10 gal these fish because they have ich. 2 of my other fish died of ich, one i kill by accident to much salt on the water. the other one(blue tang was super ichy, i guess he couldnt fight it)
my original tank is 30 gal and i have 2 shrimps, the bio filter (magnun 350) currently i was treating the ich with Kick-ich with no major results.
my 30 gal tank the water quality was horrible, and my yellow tang was white, the flame had some ich on it, so i decide to change the water. The temperature was 82.
nitrate was 2.0
ph 8.0
amonia was 2.0
nitrite 40
my fish were eating and swiming great. but i was affraid that the water will kill them.
so i change them. the questions that i have are these
after i lower the salinity from 1.020 every 12 hours for 2 days until 1.008, for how long do i leave the fish in the QT tank.
i will treat my 30 gal tank with cycle, until it reaches better scores on the water.
what do i do about the salinity when i change the fish from the 1.008 (QT 10 gal) to the 1.021 (30 gal tank with invertebrates).
When can i change the fish to the bigger tank?????
please advise.
