Hyposalinity Procedure FAQ Question

Hi, I've read what u wrote about Hyposalinity in the FAQ. But I wanted to make sure I have it right. Im pretty sure that 3 of the 4 fish in my tank have some kind of illness, either ich and/or heavy breathing. I want to the hyposalinity thing in my main tank. Am I leaving my fish in there while I do all this (lowering pH gradually)? I think ur post said to do that but then the next paragraph says:
"Your display will now have been fishless for at least four weeks
, sufficient time to allow the parasite’s life cycle to be interrupted. ****** is an obligate parasite that requires a fish host. No fish=No host=No parasite. Ich is a fish-only parasite, it will not affect inverts."
Also, my spiny puffer is in very bad shape. He hasn't eatin in about 3 days and somethings eating him up. White spots, jacked up fins, ich, white spots, slow swimming etc. I dont think hell last much longer. Would you recommend a freshwater dip? And if so, how long do I leave him in it for?
Thx

You do not lower the pH during the hyposalinity procedure. You actually need to pay close attention to pH, and maintain the levels that your fish are used to.
What type of tank do you have? Do you have LR, inverts, or is it fish-only?
What do you have to measure salinity?
