When transfering your fish to a QT tank with hyposalinity do you have to drip (acclimate) him to the lower salinity level before putting him into the tank?
The hosptial tank should be at the same salinity as your main tank. You place the fish in the hospital, then, gradually, over a 48 hour period, drop the specific gravity to 1.009. Following hypo treatment, you raise the specific gravity back up to normal over a 4-5 day period.
