Unfortunately my tank has ich...so now i want to do hypo on all the fishes...so please tell me the step by step rule to do this. I have a tang a cow fish and 2 clowns..will a 29 gallon hospitall tank be good enough? I will use the tank water and let it cycle...i know you drop the salinity to 1.009 in a 48 hr period and leave it for about 4-5 weeks and then slowly raise it up back to normal in a week span. During this time....how often should i do water changes? if im not gonna let the qt tank cycle how often should the water change be then? How often will i have to buffer the ph? anything else i should watch out for? thanks:)

Well, you bascially have the procedure already from what you said, only you only need to leave the fish in hypo for 3-4 wks after all visible signs of ich are gone.
Since your tank is uncycled, you will need to pay close attention to water quality. Probably doing daily water changes. Just putting water from your main tank into the hospital, is not going to produce a "cycled" tank, thus you will need to viligently attend to water quality via water changes and vacuuming up any waste that accumulates on the bottom of the tank. You will need ammonia and nitrite kits to test for water quality daily.

I dont want to hijack your thread but why we are talking about hypo I have a question for Beth.
I have turned a local pet store owner onto hyposalinty as treatment for parasites mainly ICH. He has heard only to drop the salinty to 1.015 an no lower. I told him I would print some things off line and bring to him for him to read. However I do not think that our discussions on here will be exactly what he has in mind. I have found one site and printed some material from there but is there anywhere I can go to find more info from Terry or others? Any info would be greatly appreciated. This guy has been very helpful to me in the past and is all around a very good person to deal with locally but is hesitant in these findings. Could you help me out?
What about Terry B? Does he have any documented research on a web site or anything? All I have is my experience and how well it has worked for me. You know how people are if it is in writing it is the gospil. lol
Thanks,
Robyn
