OK, here is my problem, I only feel an electric current in my tank when I am holding this metal tong thingy and if my arm touches the light hood (it is metal too) . No current when I have my hand in the water and touching hood (with same arm) plain or with turkey baster. So is the current coming from the lights, which are 6 weeks old and hanging 8 inches above the water attached to a wooden hood, or water, I know this is probably a dumb question but I just don't know.

Do you feel the current when you are holding the tongs in the water, and touching the hood with the same arm?

It sounds like it is coming from your light hood. I am not sure how to tell you to check it. But maybe look for any wires that are touching the metal hood part, or it is defective.
