snails snails snails! A good cleanup crew will work wonders in your tank keeping algae to a minimum. You should have one clean-up critter per gallon of water, so if you have 55 gallons, you need to have a mix of 55 hermits and snails. And get all different kinds of snails. good luck

Hey hub,
Its that carpet alage crap I stirred up the other day. Its real crappy looking and I am tired of looking at it.
By the way would it be bad to add about 40 inverts(20 snails and 20 blue legs) at the same time. I just added an algae blenny two days ago. Do I need to slow it down.
I think I am going with nassirus and blue legs, even though I recently heard horror storys on the blue legs in a recent post.

test your h2o, and if all is ok, go ahead with the inverts, they add almost nothing to your load, so they should not be a prob
get a fighting conch, and, suchk some up, that carpet is a PIA, but if i remember right, it sounded like cyano, can be dealt with, if you adjsut your powerheads, and removeit, youwill catch upp with it in a week or so, jsut this time, use the baster to suck it up, not stir it, ok
getting those nassarius, huh?wait til you see thembook, coooooool, they will help some with the sand, by stirring and eating the garbage, but they will not eat algae, like i said, suck some up and adjust your powerheads, often the prob with that type of algae, is no circulation in that area(or little)
