I am trying to pair Maroons ????

Hi all
I just picked a small (1/4") Maroon
to try and pair up with my Lg (3") maroon. I placed the small Maroon into a container and placed it next to my BTA. The Lg maroon made a few aggressive moves towards the container the small maroon was immediately submissive. The large clown has since left the container alone, it has been about a few hours. I assume this is a good sign but my question is how long should I wait before I release the small maroon?
Thanks

I hope this is a misprint when you say a 1/4" clown with a 3" maroon. I think I would take it back and get one about an inch and a half bigger.

Sorry it should be a 1 1/4". the small clown has been in the container in the tank over night and I have seen no aggressive behavior from the lg maroon...How long should I keep the small one in the container?

Well as you have probably already read or heard that maroon clowns are one of the most aggressive of all the clowns. With that being said i think you can release the new clown if you haven't already done so. But with all clowns that are not put in together there will probably be some aggression towards the new clown. this will continue until the bigger one (the female) does not feel threatened be the smaller one(the male). This could go on for a week or two and become quite violent.
