I am using an old 20 gallon tank and setting it up for saltwater.

I am transforming my old 20 gallon tank into a saltwater tank. The only problem is i used to have an algae problem with this tank when it was freshwater about 2 months ago. Right now there is still what looks like dried out algae on the glass inside the tank. Will this be a problem when i set the tank up for salt water or will the old freshwater algae die in the saltwater?

The old fw algae is already dead so you don't have to worry.
If you do have an algae problem when the tanks setup again, I doubt it'll be because of the old FW algae. I'd clean it out though.

Hey Jake,
Jim is right... the old algae is dead, buuuuut it could be housing some bacteria and other polution in it.... Don't take this wrong but why would ya want to set up a new SW tank in something all crusty... know what I mean?, hehe
I would scrape it off and clean and rinse the tank out ... WELL!
