The other computer here at work seems to be the one having the problem. it's running vista and IE (possibly an older version)

I've had alot of those problems, the most frustrating one being that sometimes I cant reply the way I want my message shown. For example I cant press enter to start a new line in the reply box or I cant copy and paste it. I did find a solution that may fix some of your problems too though.
Press the button that says 'source' then press it once more to get out of 'source'
I never have any problems posting anymore....hopefully it helps someone else.

There are some further improvements coming later this week. Hopefully, that will resolve the issues.
