i found this crab on a piece of frogspawn that i just bought. don't know what he is, please help.

looks like a emerald crab to me.

it is not an emerald. it is a light brown in color, kind of like sand. it also has hair on it. upon further searching i am leaning towards a gorilla crab.

We need a closer pic. Emerald crabs have hair on their legs. If you can get a pic of the claws that would really help. I'm leaning to emerald crab but I can't be 100%.

i have the same crab in my tank.. its light brown, tiny claws, looks almost like it has sand on its legs, correct??
if so i have had mine in my tank for about a year , because i cany catch him. it has not done any damage to my live stock, so i let him stay.
he lives under my shrooms.

does it have pointed claws or are the ends blunted. If they are sharp they are meat eaters and should be traded or gotten rid of IMO blunt are mainly algae eaters.

I'm going to have to say that it is either a gorilla crab or if not that it has to be a teddy bear crab.
