hi, if anyone can help me or give any suggestions about lighting, i would greatly appreciate it. Right now i have a 90 gal. tank with a 4" DSB and thats it. As for lights, i have just the 2 plain old 40 watt bulbs that came with the tank.. Obviously that will not work for corals but i was thinking something along the lines of getting VHO light fixtures(is there such a thing?) and just using 4 VHO bulbs(actinic and 50/50) would that work, and how much?? where can i buy???
thanks

well expert i am not lol but here is a few retro kits
If u have a wood canopy i would go with this <a href="http://www.hellolights.com/elbalkit.html" target="_blank">http://www.hellolights.com/elbalkit.html</a>
If you dont this is a plug in modle <a href="http://www.hellolights.com/48retrokits1.html" target="_blank">http://www.hellolights.com/48retrokits1.html</a>
I like the first one because you can mount it in canopy it is alot neater package
with vho retro kit you will be able to do most of the good stuff excludeing a few higher light things that like metal halied

One of the most beautiful tanks I ever saw was a 90 gallon. The guy has 2x250 watt MH 10000K AB bulbs, with 4x110 watt VHO supplement. 2 of the VHO were URI actinic...2 were URI aquasun. That is what I am using now except I use 12000K sunburst bulbs. That is a kicka$$ lighting system.
