if you "personally" dont think so why did you buy it
your as wrong as white capri pants after labor day but if I wanted a car with 200hp and 20 people told me a particular 4 cylinder turbo car made 200hp and I looked under the hood and didn't "personally" believe it could make 200hp I'd have closed the hood and bought a V8.
with all due respect your tank has only been up a month and you've had the coral for 3 days and your complaining the colt isn't doing well. you havent had the colt long enough to even know how its doing much less diagnosing it. I garauntee you it isn't from lack of lighting.

about time some is blunt and you are correct the tank has only been set up for about 6 weeks now. and it would be safe to assume that i am moving to fast and sence the first cyl the tank has had nothing but perfict water. it gets tested about 3-4 days. i listen to the people on this forum about the lights becouse i asked what is the best and this is what was pointed to me. by not just a few people was told by everyone. i agree that the light is great for growing anything. i was disapponted in amount of light it produces to the corners. for bang for buck. i was simply ranting no need to get hostil im all ear and listeing and learning a great deal from you all.
i find it funny how you brought up 200hp 4cyl couse thats what i got well 320hp

what you got? I only brought up 200hp 4cyl because thats my GTI's stock hp rating and thats my other hobby. I've got it in the 260hp range (stock turbo cant do much more). I'm actually in your area. If you've ever seen this rolling around virginia beach its me

as for the lights all halides have uneven intensity based on distance away from center and reflector design. flourescent lights have relative equal intensity along the distance of the lamb (just as bright along the sides as it is in the center). that is really what I was trying to say with the analogy. even with uneven intensity and visably less intense edges there is still plenty enough intensity everywhere over a 20" area. I dont trust basic double end designs for coverage like I do single ended bulbs but your lights are fine. the colt probably just needs some time. they shed and look bad periodically even when doing well.

Ill defend the sunpod because Ive had the 2x150w 36" for 2.5 yrs and my tank looks amazing (pats self on back).
But if you were looking for the "best" there were certainly other options that you could have gone with that would have cost you more money upfront and likely more on your monthly electric bill.
The sunpod is more of an economic option for HQI metal halides that are proven to be reliable and effective. Very good, IMO, but certainly not the "best."
To get more spread on your tank, try raising the fixture a few more inches above the tank. The fixture leg stands puts the bulbs pretty close to the water. If you had a way to raise the ficture, you will get more light wider in your tank.

nice little zippy car. anyway, the sunpod 150w mh is pretty good for most nano tanks. as stated above, ur tank is fairly new. corals and inverts (clams and anemones) dont just depend on light, they also need good water parameters. just give it time and keep up the water quality, and ur colt should recover somewhat.

i guess the lights were still there new (blue) phase now that the lights are comeing around and more white it seems to be covering more like i thought it would. the colt recovered once i moved it more to the top and off from the bottom. and the tank is simpley doing amazing seeing how quick i was able to set it up and stock it everything. im already reach max life stock its just corals from here on out.
ah my car 2008 mazdaspeed 3 stock 260hp 285tq i dumped about 4+ grand under the hood and setting at about 310/ 320 ish range. seen a few of them GTI's rolling around here in VA who knows one of them might of been you if you saw a little blue streak go flying by you yea that was me. lol

you can always sell the MH and get the extreme pro. here it is next to the 20" sunpod and it will give you uniform coverage and you can run dawn/dusk with the actinics

As for the MS3 I looked at it (and the WRX) since it faster and cheaper(casey imports where I bought it from is a VW/Mazda/Subura dealer). I was already bias being a VW guy (last car also a GTI) so neither won me over. The MS3 made me feel like I was too old for it (36) and the Sube had power but felt like a old worn out chevy compared to both. The GTI a jack of all trades, master of none. they break down alot but among VW owners if everything was working it wouldn't be a VW.

maybe you are blasting that colt with too much light. i don't think it needs to be on top of the rockwork under a halide anyway.
