I finally picked up Guitar Hero

I bought Guitar Hero III after thinking about it for a long time. To be honest, I couldn't see what the fuss was all about being a guitar player. Pushing colored buttons and hitting a bar. How in the heck could that in any way resemble playing a guitar. Well, I have to admit that I love thing. No, it's not like playing real guitar, but man is it fun! I'm just cruising through on the easy tour right now. I jumped on a medium level one in the practice mode and it was pretty hard. I think I hit around 80%.
I do have one question. What do you do with your money? I know you can go to the store buy stuff like songs and video and players, but is their any strategy to spending money? Do you need things later on?

The money thing is just to add to the fun. I don't think it actually has any purpose in the overall outcome of the game.
Guitar Hero II has a much cooler set list, FYI. Go out and buy it now that you've been hooked.
And no, it's not like playing a real guitar. Every time I play a song I'm familiar with it jacks me up. Chords!!! There are none! Not even power chords. How can this be!?

The iPhone has a game called tap tap revenge, that resembles guitar hero, imo.
I never played guitar hero, but from what I've seen...

I have it for the Wii. I will have to look for guitar hero II. I started to buy Aerosmith but it was to many Aerosmith songs. I like them, but I wanted more variety.

Oh, I've been listening which is why I have been thinking about it. I just finished the and started medium. Not too bad but it is harder. I'm down in the 80% levels now.
Isn't rock band the same thing except it adds drums?

I have it for the Wii. I can do without the drums and I don't sing. The one thing I have to be careful of is this thing taking me away from practicing real guitar. Classical guitar takes a lot of focused dedication of which I don't get enough time on anyway.
Oh, I looked at GH II but evidently they don't make it for the Wii.

GH 2 didnt come out for the Wii, yea. GH 3 is fun, and the whole money thing is just to add more songs for you to play, different character outfits, more characters, guitars, finishes, etc...
It really is a good game, Rock Band is good too but mighty expensive.

Yea, and the rock band comes with the mic too!
I work at Gamestop, and would have to say guitar hero and rock band are on a pretty even plane. Guitar Hero for you and 1-2 others, Rock Band for larger groups.

I was going to play tonight, but I'm on my second Grey Goose Vodka Martini. I think I'll leave it be tonight and relax.
I've still one one easy song to beat. I forget which one but it's a heavy metal one at the end. Something about rain.

Try that Slipknot tune on Hard while you're drinking. It will make you puke.

That's the one! I have not passed it yet in easy mode. All the others I passed the first time. Not perfect but I'd say I averaged upper 90 percentile.
