I found a mystery crab claw!

I don't have any crabs that I know of! But I found this claw sitting between two big pieces of live rock last night. I've had an awful lot of small fish disappearing in the 10 weeks I've had the tank. Can this crab have been the culprit? If it doesn't show well in the photo, the claw is brownish with tiny white dots. I have a clown trigger that I was about to send back to the fish guy who set up the tank--do you think Mr. Trigger finished off the crab? Or did he just yank off the claw?

i dont have the answer but i have 2 large hitchhiking crabs that came with my l/r i would say one of the claws is about that size, they are quick suckers and i cant get them out.
