Hi I just went to ***** and got a Scooter Blenny for my 12 gallon Nano. Do not post if you are going to tell me I can't keep one in my twelve gallon or to get a credit. He is eating mysis but I did not know that when I got him.
So I guess I got lucky. So if there is anything I should know besides the fact they microfauna. Also if any one had one in a nano I would like to hear your experences. Thanks

They are basically pods and other small animals like that. I really wanted one so I just bought it not knowing what if would eat frozen. I just got really lucky that it ate frozen. I don't know if it normally wouldn't eat it frozen food or not. It might just be the way I fed it but if you do find one eating frozen I would definetly buy it. Just make sure if get one and you aren't sure if it eats frozen make sure the store has a warranty that would allow you to return it in case you can't get it to eat.

Hey, these are living beings that you're dealing with, and it's very immature and irresponsible of you to get one just because you want one, not knowing if you'll be able to care for it properly! How would you like to be chosen from a tank by someone who didn't know if he'd be able to take care of you once he got you home? These animals are completely and totally 100% dependent on you for survival!

I know you didn't want to hear any negative comments about your purchase, but as an animal lover, I am bothered by the fact that someone would go out and get an animal, regardless of whether or not it would survive in the environment provided for it.
I hope that your blenny survives, thrives, and has a long and happy life in your tank, but please, in the future demonstrate the wisdom and maturity to chose an animal based on your knowledge and ability to care for it.

Okay sorry but if he did not eat I would have gotten some pods and if he wasn't looking good after that I would return him and yes it was irresponible for me to just get him like that but I had been doing a lot of research and he would be compatible in my tank as long as he ate frozen food. I also new I would be able to care for him as long as he ate. I guess I didn't word that post properly. I also love animals and I have a bunch of them. So sorry for annoying you if I did.

wel, you know I have one, so I'll throw out some things... Good it eats mysis some will argue this isn't enough for it... i fail to see that arguement. It loved rock... make sure you're packed up on live rock. And this isn't exactly one of those you don't want to hear but kinda... you won't be able to keep it long term... I've had mine in for about a year and it looks fine and everything and its fatter than when I bought it, BUT if you've seen a full grown scooter then you know it won't last its whole life in that... the one I saw was a good 4 inches or so long, which would need a bigger tank. so yeah, i doubt you'll keep your current tank long enough for it to outgrow (everyone upgrades) but just throwin that out there.

I'm going to lock this thread as you've already said everything. You can't post that you put a fish in an incompatible environment and then "got lucky" and not expect people to get angry. If this thread remains open it will degrade rapidly...
You did indeed get lucky. Buying a fish expecting to take it back if you cannot provide the proper food for it is not what we want to promote here.
You stated you did a lot of research. If that is the case you knew that for every success story there are far too many failures.
It's your aquarium. You can put a Barracuda in it and no one here can stop you. What you need to ask yourself, however, is should you.
I hope that doesn't come across as rude. I don't want to sound mean, but I do want to explain to you what as hobbyists we are trying to promote on this forum.
I'm glad the fish is doing well and wish you continued success.
