hey everyone
i too know how each one here feels. when i was two my family got our first dog (in my life). people are amazed to know that i still remember going to pick him out.. Coco was my best friend for 13 awesome years before his body gave out. we still haven't even thought of gettin another outside dog (2 inside), and i'm terrified i'm gonna be at college and our oldest dog is going to die. she's been sickly her whole life.
but i'm gettin ahead of myself haha.
just wanted to let yall know it does get better... takes a long time and gallons & gallons & gallons of tears, but it does.

I am sorry for your loss, I know its tough. You are so right about how they let you know when its time. Indy did the same thing, she kept her spirits up but was looking at me differently. Its kind of hard to explain unless its your dog. You know what I'm talking about.

Man! (trying to clear my throat and pretend I'm not getting choked up reading these) I have had to bury my best friend before. I wish you the best and know you provided her with a life full of love and affection. I can't do this right now. This stuff really screws me up. How do you feel knowing you made a 27 yr old 6'5 240 lb guy tear up???? I'm deeply sorry for your pain and loss.

, it was the best thing for her. That is the tough thing about having animals, they pass on much to quickly...Besides my scarlet macaw she is going to out live me....

Today is a sad day and a good day at the same time. Our Choclate lab (REM) was put to sleep this morning. He was a beautiful lab that was a member of our family for 13 years and 2 months. REM had been in declining health for some time now and we have suspected he had cancer and other non-treatable issues. We have had him on pain medicines with mixed results.
Yesterday he could not get up from his bed, His back legs would not assist him in getting up to go outside and he lay moaning and very nervous. We could see his suffering and decided to let him go to sleep this morning. We love and miss him so much. Our hearts are broken and we are sad with grief.
But the one thing that brings us some comfort is knowing he is no longer in any pain. His moans of discomfort was a sign and a plea for freedom from his pain. Even though me may have wanted ot stay with us as long as we asked him to stay, we loved him so much that we have dome what we could and have given him peace and comfort that he so rightly deserves. He was a major part of our family for over 13 years and he will always be the best dog and companion a family could ever have. We were blessed to have him in our family for the time we could be together. We will always miss our good boy, Remington.
