DELL COMPUTERS!!!
Hate it!! Wiped out and reentered the entire database 5 times!!! Stupid thing STILL locks up. I can't reply to my emails, I get a system 32 box every single time I log on, I get more "send error reports" than you can imagine. And their wonderful tech support is a bunch of guys in India that I cannot understand, but it doesn't matter because the only thing they can tell you to do is "reboot from a different date". Had a Gateway, didn't have near this many problems. I have virus software installed, even some you pay for but this stinkin' thing is a piece of crap!! Today...finally, I gave the hubby th go ahead to get that 5 thousand dollar Mac he's been wanting. I am now convinced you get what you pay for.
OK, I'm done.
With Cristmas coming up...don't buy these stinkin' Dells!!!
Now, I'm really done.
Ahhh, feel much better. Now I'm off to go fight with my "microsoft word"...again.

you still use word? i don't even think my computer came w/ word installed. i know at school everyone uses office 2003, so i had no choice but to borrow the installation code/disk from my roommate and install it on my computer....lol

i think those new gateway laptops look amazingly fun, the ones that the screen turns 360 deg and you can write directly on it....whew, dont know how long the screen would last, or if it would look nice for long or have marks all over it, but still, looks cool

ugh!!! i know the same thing. I have some sort of interal error with microsoft outlook, where if i restart my computer, i have this little ritual i have to do in order to get outlook opened again... which includes closing it, then opening it, then closing it, then opening it, then closing it, then restarting, and doing it all over again, then restarting again and doing it all over again again!!! I HATE MY DELL!!! Stupid friggin computer, and it's not like i can get a new one... too much info on this one, and it's my work computer. I have a compaq presario 1200 at home (this is the first laptop model they ever made) and it runs better than my 2004 dell!!! (although the laptop still sucks, and is really slow, but it doesn't freeze up like my dell)... i sooo know what you're talking about tizzo!!!

that's actually a toshiba, my cousin has one, and it's amazing!!! the screens don't scratch as easily as you think, they're meant to be written on, so they're a lot more durable than normal computers. That's the kind i'm getting when i get a new computer (which will probably be never, but i can keep dreaming...)

JD, I hate it for you but glad you understand...
I'll let you know how the Mac turns out. Everybody on TV uses Mac's, even the people who aren't sponsering it. Best picture and movie graphics from what I am learning... Just gotta learn how to use the stinkin' thing, lol...

lol, my hubby has an apple, and he LOVES it. It's damn near impossible to get a virus, because people just don't make viruses for mac...

Hey JD can't you just save your info to a zip drive and then download it to a new computer?? I don't know how to do much on these things and I think the hubby knows just enough to be dangerous.

this is the server for all of the computers in our office, so changing it would be too much work i'm not willing to do, not to mention, having to buy another computer...
