Hey,
Even with good lighting a lot depends on your experience. You have to have ideal water conditions and be able to maintain them at all times. Then you have to make a choice of what type of reef you want to set up. (Some corals like a lot of water movement, some don't.) Some corals don't get along and will either sting the other coral or release toxins into the water to kill the neighbor they don't like.
Good lighting is a good first step but you still have to do research. Most of all, go slow. You don't want to spend major $ and then realize you made an expensive mistake.
This just scratches the surface of things to concider. I'd get a couple of good books and then write down a specific shopping list. (No impulse buying!) You may find out that the fish you've always dreamed about getting eats your favorite coral.
