I'm not going to do this, but for some reason, I just thought of this. Converting an old hottub into a pond. You already have pumps to flow around the water (just reduce the power to them so its a gentler current. you arleady have intake and return piping, all you need to do is add a sump where the stock filter is, put a PS and a UV in it, and call it a day.
Anyone see why this wouldnt work?

Hmmm .... interesting.
I've actually heard of other people considering the idea also.
Still - I would think it may be cheaper to making a shark/ray pond out a premade pond or small above ground swimming. I've seen these done several times before.

Anyone rememebr the cartoon Animaniacs? It's time for another good idea, bad idea. Good idea; truning an old hotub into a shark and ray pond. Bad idea; getting drunk and going for a dip.
