OK, well I been REALLY lazy recently and have allowed my hair to grow out longer then I have ever let it grow. So I'm looking at myself in the mirror combing my hair in all weird, funny, bugged out ways and I noticed it....then I noticed another....then there was more....and more!!! the sides of my head is FILLED with gray hair!!! I cant even hide them....THEY ARE SHINEY!!!
I'm 31... Is this normal? When do people usually start going gray?

Thats it, you're screwed now buddy! I dont think there is any real set age for people to start going gray. I'm 35 and have no gray on my head but I do notice some starting to come in in my goatee. I have a friend that was 50% gray by the time he was 28 or so.. I think a lot of it is genetic. How old was your father when he started going gray? My dad is in his mid 60s and he is just starting to go...

I think it is linked to how many children and how wild they are.

I had lots of grey hairs in my mid 20's. My barber told me "better grey than gone". I could really care less either way. Normal

I agree, I dont have kids and im 34 w/lots of grey. I think its more about being married(wife). I keep my hair military cut so the grey doesnt show so much.
Does CowFish just post every morning and disappear.

Gray hair is based on genetics. Did your mother, father, uncle, aunt, etc. have premature gray hair? Some doctors also attribute it to stress and bad diet. But if that were the case, 90% of Americans age 25 and older would have gray hair.

It isn't grey hairs, it's silver highlights.
My mom and sister were best friends with Clairol by the time they were 25. At 50 my sister says I don't have as much grey as she did in her 20's. My older brother died at 41. He didn't have a grey hair on his head. I had just a couple around the sides until I hit the mid 40's and over the last 5 years it has started to fill in. As long as it isn't flesh tone I don't care what color it is.
