I just got this DI/RO and have soft water in my house. Sould I run soft water thru this and into my tank or does it make a difference?

If you run the soft water through the RO/DI it will preserve the filters a little longer.

what should i use to hold the water i make? The RO unit makes 60 gal a day and i would like to store some for water changes, should I just run it into a clean trash plastic trash can?

I have a 12G trash can..I installed a float at top....I have it so it has an Auto top off...so I always have 12 g's of ro/di water made
when I do water changes, I mix 8-10 g's in my large trash can until I have more made. NEVER have to worry about turning the water off. LOL
