The tank is 73x19 with a height of 23"
the sump is 48x13 with a height of 22"
I need the sump to fit underneath. The current stand I got is a little cramped and I would like to increase the height to 42"
That way its not too tall. If I can reach inside the tank with a small step ladder I don't mind. As long as I got plenty room underneath for the sump and hanging lights.

This is what I currently have to work with..as you can see its a little cramped.
I have 2x4.
2x12(not much)
plywood
drill
table saw
hammer
skill saw
saber saw
chop saw
im pretty sure thats plenty enough tools. I can get a compressor and finish nail gun from my dad, if the design allows for some nice paneling to be placed on it.

This is the 20 long i didnt want doors because of the location and other furniture in the room i wanted it 2 match total cost was about 30.00 and its sturdy not like the cheap press board stands at the pet shop
The 20 high got doors ill take a pic of it tomorrow total cost on that one was like 42.00 and again its sturdy made with ripped 2x4s and notty pine
Your size tank will probably cost about 75.00 and a little elbo grease ill work you up some plans tomorrow asap its late night everyone

here is mine..I made it for my 30Breeder tank..its 30x18x30
It needs the door still..I am going to Ikea to buy a nice black trim door with frosted glass in the center for it..Just like the ones on my TV stand..perfect fit and make it all match

Cost was about $45 to build it

Here is my 125g stand, it only needs the trim boards for the gap between the tank and stand. It's rough cut sedar with 3 coats of polyurethane.

yea that calculator is STUPID...I built my stand and skinned it all for a total of 45bucks...That calculator was telling me it would cost 75bucks just to build the frame. I dont know what the cost of wood they put in but from what I saw it was about 15bucks worth of the frame design it showed.

sorry don't quite follow.
if your referring to the auto design generator, evin if i looked up the stock and found it cheaper. it still built an over kill stand that would weigh several hundred pounds. if i were going with something in the 500gallon+ range I would use it's design
I think I got a good idea on building a stand now. thanks for all your help. I will post a pretty nice one for all to see.
