I know you answered many questions about puffs but please help me out.

my puff has always been very happy and energetic, I have had him for about 6 months and today I saw him with his eyes clouded and he was covered in this like white sheet that looked like fungus, he also looked very light colored different from other times, and I just tooked him and placed him in my 10 gal which has already been setup for like about a month, Am I making a smart decision, also what to give him, I was wondering if I could give him greenex, but dont know what to do if I dont know what he has, can you please help me what to do or what might it be? thanks!

No, no, no greenx. Sounds to me like a bacterial infection. The question is, why does he have a bacterial infection?
Give some info about your tank: size, type, water condidtions, other fish.
Will a puffer fit in a 10 gal tank??? How big is the fish?
I would treat with Maracyn Two for SW fish, double dose for 5-7 days. Just prior to redosing, do a water change, and/or use carbon filtration for an hr or 2 to clear up the water from the old antibiotic dose.
Water quality it QT is just as important as the medication.
Is the fish eating?

The tank is a 55 it has 2 damsels, 2 clowns, one foxface and the puffer, no fish had every bothered the puffer, I have a wet/dry for a 75 gallon tank which has 2 chemi-pure carbon and a phosguard
last time I checked was saturday and it had.
.1 phosphate
.25 ammonia
0 nitrates
0 nitrites
8.0 pH and have been adding lately some buffer to bring it up
Hes very small about 2 inches, he was eating fine yesterday but I did notice him trying to get the food and he would miss, but had seen no signs of the white thingy. Ill see if I could get some macryn but all the shops here are closed now. I think that the cause was the food, I was giving him krill and the krill had been in the freezer for quite some time, and is kind of old, so tomorrow Ill get some krill, and some macryn. And BTW thanks for helping me out, really appreciate it.

Why do you have ammonia???? That is the problem, or, at least a big part of the problem.
Can you post a pic of the sick fish? What are you feeding him?
Maracyn Two for SW fish, not Maracycn.

Ammonia is a bit up because of the bioload, I also have some anemones. I cant post a pic but he has clouded eyes and some like white strips covering him, I mainly fed him krill, and somestimes I would soak it in Zoe but have not done it lately, I have also tried other foods but he only accepts krill.

Anemones in a tank with aggressive fish?? Puffers need more then krill. I am no expert on them, but they need hard shelled foods as well.
You've got to get that ammonia down.

my puff has never bothered anything, hes actually the most peaceful in the tank, and ive tried all sorts of food to feed him, clam, silversides but he doesnt accept it. I just got the maracyn, there was no maracyn 2. but I just placed a tablet and he seems to be doing ok, the white thingy is getting clearer and one of his eyes is better but the other one is worse. Whats this formalin dips? The only dips I'am aware of are the FW dips but I do not like them. And also how can I get the ammonia down? Is it possible that there was not a lot of movement and the crap con stuck up in the sand and made the ammonia rise up? I was thinking of adding a sand sifter but dont know which? Will that help. thanks

What filtration are you using?
Maracyn Two is the medication you need. Don't think the reg maracyn is going to do you much good.
Can you descibe the cloudiness problem you are seeing with the fish? Terry thinks the problem may be parasites. Is it a greyish film? Slimy? More details.

Today is day 2 of the medication and today Im not going to put a tablet since the tank looks very yellowish, but I have seen him more active and more color, it still the same but he has improved. his left eye is all cloudy and I can see like some white film going out his eye, the other eye is doing good, very little cloudiness, I can still see like very small white film on the top of his body but cant find it anywhere else, I really dont know what else to describe, so am I missing anything here? Or it would just be better if you could list a few of the symptoms and Ill tell you if it has it or not.thanks again.

so far the puffer has just been getting better and better, he has already eaten, tomorow I will just do a water change and keep using the medication, if it gets worse then Ill change but right now ill stick to this medication.
Also I forgot to say that when I went to my lfs I gave a description to the guy working there of the puffer and he told me to use melafex, but then I asked him about maracyn and he said that was good also so I got maracyn instead. So how does melafex work and what does it treat?
