WoW! I get pissed when my siphon line splashes on the floor for a second! Good luck cleaning it up. BTW good job in not "dumping your whole tank!" You would have been REALLY pissed then!

hehe did that on my newly refinished wood floors, guess who ended up re-refinishing the wood floors OOPS!

I make sure the floor where the tank stands is water-proof. My tank is on linoleum. The only drawback I have to water on the floor, (and believe me, I've had spillage), is the legs of my fish shelf rusting and staining the floor.
I hate spilt water. The wet/dry vacuum is a great idea. I also hate dried salt on my kitchen floors. It makes the skin on my feet all dry.

Yup, that nominates anybody for the Dumbest of the Day Award, but certainly not the Dumbest of the Week, Month or Year Award... there's plenty of dumb-asses out there for that.
Just kidding.
:p

waterfaller,
i've done that... almost, but fortunately remembered after about 20 minutes in bed and went to stop the overflow at about 4 gallons. I don't have carpet downstairs fortunately.
I've since got a trashcan and equipped it with a float valve. :)

You should take advantage of your store ownership status and invest into a good wet/dry...with the amount of water we have in our tanks...they are almost a must have piece of equipment...
