After six years of having 120 GL fish tank I am switching to reef. so far I change completely my filtration system and instill much stronger light system. Now I have little dilemma with my LR. I am planing to create multistep LR base for new corals. somehow I have to glue rocks together, and my question is can I use regular cement from Home Depot. Because chemical balance of water in Aquarium is very delicate I just wondering if the regular cement will have any negative impact on my whole system. Any suggestion would be very helpful for me, it's always nice to learn from the experience folks from this message board. Thank you very much for any suggestion.

You may want to look in or ask in the DIY section. Many people even make their own LR but I am not sure of the "forumlation" they use.
I have seen also people drill and then cable tie LR together. Also they have used the plastic rebar to secure the pieces together after drilling.

Basic formula six parts aggregate to one part #3 Portland cement let your formed rock set for 24 hours
Soak the rocks in white vinegar for 12 hours and rinse them in fresh water before you use them
