I just got a 4 in lion ... the problem is it hasnt eaten in 3 days...but the bigger problem is i have an extremley greey lunare wrasse and a miniatus grouper. I try feeding silver sides with a tong but the wrassse is always getting it caz the lion doesnt acknowledge it.
What shouldi do... i thought about mennows... but i think thats just something for the grouper to devour

I would pick up some ghost shrimp and pretty much hand feed the lion until he becomes aggressive enough to eat on his own with your other fish.

if you got a qt tank, i would keep the lion in there until he's an aggressive eater. shouldn't take long. maybe 3 weeks before he's eating krill and silversides. if you feed ghost shrimp your grouper and wrasse will eat those as well and just as aggressively too.

what i nomally do is I hand feed all my fish feed the most agressive in the tank first when they get full they wont be as hard to work around.now in my tank the lion and the grouper are the most agressive of eaters.most of your fish have the same diet needs.get the pigs out of the way then start off stick feeding your fish krill ,silverslides,or smaller peices of shrimp.once your lion has recognized you as his food source hand feeding will be more accepted by him.hes new to your tank at this point you are his capture not his lifeline.you will also find that if you soak the food in garlic extreme (2 drops) while thawing foods they tend to eat better.unltill you get him eating i suggest adding 1 drop per gal this will keep his imune system up.lions are predatory fish to stick feed him the food must move about to entice to eat it.

Whenever i get close to thelion he slowly moves away.. and when i drop the food infront of its face it lets it fall and my wrasse is quick to get it. Theonly bright side is the lion is swimming more out in the open now

It is perfectly normal for the lion to be a little intimidated by you. When you get the ghost shrimp though, I do not think he will have any fears of coming close to you because he will definitely recognize this as a good food source.

get the others all full so they wont go after it then soak the krill in garlic and wiggle it on the end of the feeding stick so he thinks its alive then loose it off the stick and when it swirls up to the top of the tank he will think its alive. works on my fuzzy dwarf

I would not let it go weeks before he eats. That will just weaken his immune system and his body's systems as a whole. Try feeding him the ghost shrimp at night time when the other fish are sleeping. He might be more ready to eat when he is not so intimidated.
