I need goby help!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I've recently purchased a green bar goby and he always looks dead so I put my spoon in the tank to make sure he is alive, I know its not good for the fish but I'm really worried he is dieing or going to die. I know they are not a swimming fish they like to perch but when he is sitting there his gills don't move nor do his fins, also the back half of his body is tilted sideways...
what can I do or what is wrong? Please help...!!!

By bar goby, are you talking about the long slender green gobies with orangish stripes vertically down the side? If you are, those wish are swimmers. I have 2 of them and they are always swimming around my aquarium, when they are not frightened by everything that enters the room.
If they are the green banded goby, the little 1.5in green w/stripes and a little red zoro mask, they don't swim around much. If it is just sitting there, it may be ok. When it swims, does it shoot around the aquarium like a bullet? Have you noticed any of the sand being moved out from under the rocks?

Thanks for all of the help, he seems to be doing ok, he swims a lot but more towards the middle of the tank and yes he is eating but it looks like he takes in the food then spits it out so I'm not sure what he is doing there so???
