I just bought a yellow headed moray who I'm crazy about. He's going in my 75 gallon temporarily while my 220gallon cycles. He's in there with just a little damsel and a ton of rock. I also bought a feather duster which I put in my 180. I was not told that my pearlscale butterfly eats feather dusters. Can I put it in with my eel for now or will he eat it too?

You mean the feather duster in with the eel, right? If so, that shouldn't be a problem.

Oh yes, they are pickers. The eel will not eat it, but be careful where you place it. He may knock it over.

Ok, my husband bought me an australian lime green wrasse today. He's BEAUTIFUL! Will he eat the feather duster? I've read that he'll eat my snails but haven't found anything about feather dusters. I'm tempted to return the feather duster to the store for a credit because I'm constantly afraid of something eating it!

Apparently they can shed their crown, so if you notice something picking on it, you should take it back, I don't think it will do immediate harm, just if something keeps it from eating too long it will die. There may be fish out there with a long enough narrow nose that could pull it out of its tube, but I doubt the wrasse is one of them. Just my opinion.

Right now I have a plastic sort of grate like shell over him so he can eat and not get picked on. I'm off work tomorrow and I think I'm going to return him :( it just sucks because I love it, it's beautiful, but I don't want it to die just so I can say I had one. Maybe I'll set up a nano later and put him in there. Im a little discouraged now because I've been reading the other posts and found that clown triggers and lions don't do well together and the clown trigger is one of my favorite fish. I had one about a month ago and he had so much personality and was so much fun to watch but I had a disaster when the tank he was in sprung a leak. He was doing fine in a smaller tank by himself and I took him back to the store for them to hold him and he died :(. I was really hoping to get another. He was in a tank with a yellow tang, a couple of damsels, and a fox face. The fox face always seemed stressed when the clown was around though. He would turn brown whenever the clown would swim by. I'm starting to wonder about the clown trigger now too. I'm going to post a stock list and see what everyone says. I've been in the hobby for about two years now but I still feel there's MUCH to learn.
