ok i just recently built and installed a wet/dry/sump/skimmer/refugium. what ever that would be called. my problem is now water evaporates so quick its not funny. i have lids on all the tanks exept the main tank. the refugium has screw in type plant grow lights for the calurpa. its not that hot. not as hot as my vhos. how can i make something to store water, say 5 gallons and automatically fill the sump when its low? they way its going im having to add 1 gallon a day. and when it gets low it puts thousands of bubbles in the main tank.

I think what your looking for is a float switch. Position it in your sump and have it runing to a bucket that is higher than your sump. Possible off to the side of your tank. Mabee boxed in somehow. or I am not sure if you would need n/o or n/c. I am planning to do this myself pretty soon.

Opps I gave you a little mis information.....I will turn on a powerhead to pump water when the level gets low.
So that means you can put the bucket anywhere. as long as you can get enough head presure to get it to your sump.
