i need help wit lights

I cant tell you what exactly you need but anyone on here who can will need to know exactly what kind of setup you have and what you plan to keep?
Some base it on watts per gallon and others take it on a case by case basis depending on the depth of the tank and so on...
There are three types of lighting you can use
Power Compacts
VHO : very high output
Metal Halide
it all depends on your setup I believe, just post your tank size and dimensions what all you have and what all you want to keep and they will let you know!!

well what kind of corals......it all depends on what types of corals you want to keep.....you have soft corals which are realtivly low light corals....and then you have large polyp stony corals..(LPS)...which require higher intensity lighting and then you have small polyp stony corals..(SPS)...which require extream high entensity lighting....
and of course there are always exceptions to the rules....as far as types of corals and lighting intestity...but generally you will have to consider buying some power compact lighting (PC), very high output floresent lighting (VHO) or Metal halide lighthing....(MH)......generally these are the three choices of the reef keeper.....all depends on how much $$$$ you want to spend and what you like the best......and what you will keep of course!
