BIG SIGH...I can't be the only person with this problem SOMEBODY someplace knows how to help me.
I beg you, if you know the answer please share it...I have a Navagator deluxe app...The GPS is awesome and it gets me to my destination, however I can not for the life of me.... END TRIP. It just repetes over and over and over that my destination is on the left or right (depanding on where I am going)
Sometimes I change my mind and stop at the store on the way to my destination...The GPS freaks out and keeps saying over and over "re routing"
I just want to know how to get it to understand I don't want it's help anymore...END TRIP. I have looked at the downloaded manual...it tells me all about how great the feature is but no instructions on how to use it or END the TRIP! I can't find the answer on the internet.
I'm sooo frustrated, can anyone help me with this?

It sounds like you are using a 3rd party app and not the default Navigation app that comes on every Android phone I've ever seen? Any reason for that? I'm on my second Android phone, first was a Motorola DroidX and now a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I've never had any problems with the default App.

Okay...you are talking Chinese to me...I have an Electrify Motorola touch phone. It is running Android 4.0
It had a GPS Navagator deluxe, which is the only reason I got the phone. I don't have any problems with the GPS, I just don't know how to "END TRIP" it shuts itself off when I reach my destination. However if I want to stop at a store and afterwards say...go to my sisters where I know the way...how do I end the trip?
How would YOU end the trip on your phone, maybe they all work simular...I hope anyway...

I had to look up that phone since I've never heard of it. Do you use US Cellular as your carrier? Just a quick glance at their site shows that it uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread and not Android 4.0 ICS. In any case, it uses the stock Android Navigation App, which uses Google Maps. I can't help you on the problem you're having though. When I reach the destination using the Nav app on my phone, it shows on screen that you can either end navigation or enter another address to route to.

Simple answer is to go into settings/applications and force stop the app.
Droidforums.net is a great source of info for all android phones. There is an app in the market for the forum also.

Yes, that only kills the app for the session you are currently using.
Thank you so much...Life is good again.
LOL...I'm pretty bad at figuring out this phone but....Someday my mother will remember how to answer hers. (it's just like mine)
LOL...I walked into the living room a few weeks ago and she was so frustrated...pushing the buttons as hard as she could and declared she hated that phone...that she couldn't get it to do a blessed thing!
...I bit my lip trying not to laugh, and told her that was because it was the remote to the TV. She laughed and said that was a pretty good reason it wasn't working. I love my mom and I was very glad to see she still has a sense of humor about growing old and being well.... a little off. The good news is I can now beat her at Scrabble.... sometimes.

Im not an expert but when my original Droid started acting up I read a lot on how to fix it. Once I got over the fear of messing it up I rooted it and changed the rom and kernel on it. It was like I had bought a new phone and everything was different and better. Now its my 6 year olds phone. lol. No service of course but she plays games on it and listens to Disney radio.
My mom says she wants a smartphone. It will take her years to figure out how to use it. lol

I tried both Google translate and Babylon and got these results
"I have said unto him, Behold, the Kingdom"
and
"I said that China is now"
What do you think you said?

Me too! Both my parents want smart phones, but I'm afraid that it will take them years to learn and they'll get all frustrated and mad with it.
Plus their fat fingers will press every button imaginable!

My Mother saw my phone and wanted one because it had a GPS...I paid extra for hers because it wasn't time to upgrade yet, I paid full price for the phone and an extra $60.00. She hates it, but I paid so much for it she has to use it until the next allowable upgrade...she will be getting one with buttons then. Right now she waits for the phone to stop ringing, and then calls me back (Not everytime, sometimes she can answer) but she keeps forgetting that she needs to swipe her finger across the answer tab when the phone rings.
I could have had the phone returned within 30 days, but I figured she would learn to use it...She has hated every new phone because it frustrates her, then she learns how to use it and all is good again. This time it's been 5 months and she still can't figure it out. Shes old so I understand, it's hard to learn new technology and she remembers how to make a call but not to swipe her finger across the front on the green tab to answer it.

I have my mother on my wireless plan and she told me the other day she'd like a new phone. There is NO WAY IN HELL I am getting her a smart phone! I already have to spend time teaching her how not to screw up her laptop on a weekly basis. No way am I going to do that with her phone too! She just needs something that can make calls and take pictures. She doesnt text and certainly wouldnt have a clue what to do with apps or anything like that.

Yeah, I should have known better as well. She works her computer just fine, she worked in an office for many, many years. But the touch screen she just can't seem to grasp.

My mom has learned how to text this year. lol. I still have to install the updates on her laptop and her desktop is in terrible shape. I have done all I am going to do with the desktop. She says it is new but it is about 10 years old and she will not erase the stuff my stepdad downloaded on it, I can understand that though.
I took her to the Verizon store a while back and she liked the iphone 4. I had told her to try all the phones and see what she liked. I do not like the one button thing on the iphone so if she does get one I will be in for a headache trying to teach her how to use it.
She is my hero so I guess will just be more time I can spend with her.
