I need my pink cucumber to MOVE!

He has attached himself to the glass at the very top of the tank and he's stuck there like super glue! I really need to do a water change, I'm trying to get my nitrates down. I tried taking some water out to see if he would move and he didn't. What can I do to get him to move? Can I do a water change and just leave him exposed to the air?

I have a Orange Linkia Starfish that does the same thing. Just start the water change, he'll move down.

I expose mine all the time. So far it hasn't been an issue. They most likely will not move, but I wouldn't annoy it by trying to. Just be sure your water is well mixed and at tank temperature to avoid major shock. You don't want to leave it exposed for a long time, so be efficient on the water change, but otherwise, IME, it hasn't been an issue.

A buddy of mine has one and it NEVER seems to move. He says that it moves some when he does water changes but eventually goes back to his place. He has had him for quite awhile so I guess it's doing ok.

My cucumber likes the glass too.
I bought him to clean my sand. He does a great job.... in the 4 inches around "his" rock and back corner of the tank.
I really thought it would travel more. Guess they get all they need to eat out of relatively small spaces.

Where were you when I flushed my poor cucumber a few months ago Ophiura? Mine was on the top of the tank not moving much for a month. I loved that guy and now nobody aroud here sells any cukes.
I would buy one from SWF but I can't afford the min order amount, and SWF won't take my lfs credit :p
