I always wanted a new tank, but had no room. But we moved last month (next door) and our new house is way bigger!!
I don't know if I want to go with a 6 gal or an 8 gal.
Please post pics of both. I have a 12 gal aquapod but they don't sell a 6 or an 8 and I don't want another 12. I've been looking at different tanks, but they all sound great.
I will be keeping mostly zoos and shrooms with maybe a leather or two.
Thanks all

NOOOOOOOOOObody has ANY pictures of their 6 or 8 gal? And you call yourself nanoers!! Just kiddin'
But really. I can't figure what a 2 gal difference means. I read the specks, but until you SEE it full of rock and coral, it's just numbers.
So, if anyone could, I would GREATLY appreciate photos if ya have 'em.
Thanks

The 9 gal is really nice, I checked it out. I think it's too big for where I want to put it though. I'm now looking at the 6 gal JBJ nano cube. I'm not sure I like the lighting though. I don't fully understand what all the lighting does (actinic, moonlight, daylight) I know some is just for looks, but I also know some of it is esential to coral growth.
So, I have to do more research. I don't want to get something and then kick myself because it's not what i wanted.

well the 6g JBJ nano is really good. if you wanna start small. the lights do give it a look. if you dont have the actinic only the daylights the tank will look yellowish. and we dont want that. we want to show the tank off. so the actinic gives it off a good color. also dont worry about the wattage. as long as you wanna keep zoas, softies, leathers, and some LPS you are good. example of lps are hammers, frogspawn, favia etc... sps are the one that need a big light. like montipora, acropora, millepora, etc...
and the moonlights are to simulate the moon like at the reefs. also so you can give it a look at night. and see how everything acts and how the corals open up the mouths to eat! super exciting! i love it when my do that!

THATS the info I was looking for!! Thank you sooo much. I just went on different sites to see what else was available and I did find some combo lights for the 6 gal so it will have the daylight, actinic, and moon lights.
I"M SOOO excited!! I ordered it.

I only want to keep softies and maybe I will put my teeny tiny frogspawn in after
it cycles. Until it get's too big, then I will put it back in my 12 gal.
Gee, it's been 3 years since I cycled my first tank. I think I forget how. I will have to go back to the newbie pages.

THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!!

with the nano wave don't you have to buy a chiller? I heard they overheat. if I'm wrong then that's a great price!

Yea, I didn't use a damsel last time. I went to the store and ordered 1 shrimp. He was like "1 lb?" I said "no, just one shrimp." He couldn't sell me just one, I had to buy 1/4 lb!!

that would explain some of the corals in your tank. They look nice. How often did you have to top it off?
