hi, i have a 36 bowfront and i really want a wrasse cause they are active and colorful. i know there are tons out there and i want one that is real colorful and amazing to look at (like a show fish). it needs to be able to be happy in my tank size and be reef safe. any suggestions on real cool ones? (post pictures of yours if you have any) thanks.

Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia -- Four Line Wrasse (also commonly called Twelve Line Wrasse).
Basically a very pretty Six Line.

A yellow canary wrasse and a green coris wrasse are nice and active, inexpensive ($20) and eat parasites off of other fish. I'm at work so I can send you a pic.

thanks for all the replies guys...
i like the sixline as thats the one i planned on having...but i wanted other choices as well. i like the scotts, fairy, and long fin wrasses, they all have nice color. the yellow and green wrasses will get too big for my tank though. any other suggestions anyone?

Another thought on the lined wrasses is they are typically agressive. If you want to ever have multiple wrasses its best to stick with fairies and flasher wrasses.

my tank will be stocked with 6 other fish so aggressiveness may be an issue due to a more crowded tank. i like the solar fairy wrasse...and the flashers...are these guys more peaceful?

Yes, they are a lot more peaceful. I have multiple wrasses and even have a solar fairy. The lined wrasses are great reef safe workhorses but its not advisable to house them with other wrasses. They will most likely not be a threat to other fish than wrasses but can be.

He should be ok
yikes...i thought they stayed 4" or below. i think i will add a small wrasse then for sure (6line). i also have a sump for an extra 15 gallons of water volume...so i plan on having a few more fish but my tank is gonna be more crowded...so ill have to see how it goes along the way. thats why it seems like my tank is overstocked a little.

i finally found a wrasse i liked! its the slightly pricey McCosker's flasher wrasse. i like its colors and its only 3" and not aggressive like sixlines are.
