I need some quick opinions

I have a qt tank set up with no substrate of any kind, and since the clownfish I have in there will have to stay in there for about 3 more weeks I wanted to add some live sand in the tank.
My question is: Is it OK to just put the live sand in there? It is only a 10 gal. and I have 10lbs. of live sand. Will this have adverse effects on the fish? I'm scratching my head on this one. Thanks

What is the purpose of putting the sand in a QT?? QT's are often used for treatment and then have to be disinfected. IMO no substrate is necessary.

Don't put any sand in there.
