I need your opinion.

I'd LOVE to get a 2 or 3gal nano reef. However, spring of 2012, I'm heading off to baisc trainign for the Air Force, and nobody would be able to care for the tank I started. Once I get out of basic training, I'd be able to care for it again. So I have a couple questions,
1) Should I get one or not?
2) Is there anyone in Colorado familiar with the town of "Castle Rock" and is willing to care for my tank once I leave?
II know it's a lot to ask, but if someone is willing to care for my tank in my absence, that would be outstanding. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what do you recommend? I only plan on getting the casual mushrooms an other low-medium light corals, and maybe one small fish, like a blenny, or a goby (one of those two would be excellent). A price range would be nice, something low on cost. I'd like to buy my girlfriend's promise ring, as well as be able to buy our 6 month dinner. If I can't buy this tank, and those other 2 things, then the buying of the tank will be put on hold for a good 3-4 months atleast. That also needs to be considered.
Again, any and all help is appreciated, thank you, and take care :)

She can take care of it, I'll teach her everything I know over the next 9~ish months. She'll know how to take care of it :)
Also, I still need cash estimates here. Thanks for the reply though :)

Thank you for the input :) I realize the bulk of my money will be spent on LR/S, the tank, and equipment. So that's what I'm more focused on now. Plus it'll have to cycle before I can even begin to worry abotu livestock, whoch gives me more time to aquire funds.

Costs:
tank+light+filter (with shipping)= $80
Live rock: 5 lbs rubble rock $3lb $15
Sand: out of my 24g $0
Salt water: $4 (4 gallons pre-mix @$1 a gallon)
Zoa frag: $ $8 bucks
total= $107
That was brand new tank/light/HOB filter..... so cost isn't huge for initial set up....... the stuff to go in it will be.....
