I not a big fan of call centers!

I called AOL, I spoke to INDIA?
I called VONAGE I spoke to the PHILLIPINES!
I called PAYPAL I spoke to MEXICO!
And they just dont have the best grasp of the English language and I find it hard to get my point across, I find myself repeating myself over and over again and saying "excuse me" a few too many times. Not good customer service if you ask me!

I make a significant effort to not use companies that use english as a second language people answering phones. They just can't answer questions off script, I can find the script, if I have a question, it won't be on script.

One of my major pet peeves.

When I call someplace like this the first thing I do is ask if they have anyone there that speaks english.

eh , i work at one in margate. most of the people on the phones are speaking english, but to what degree remains a question.

International sellout, cheap doctrine, or what ever you want to call it... Americans want at least minimum wage for these jobs, that is too much....

I hear horror stories all the time being in IT. Luckily, with my corporate account with Dell one of the perks is US based tech support!

Ditto to that.
Be happy you got a human. I spent a couple hours on the phone last night with a credit card company, more time with the computers than humans.

They ticked me off so badly I'm cancelling that card now.
And yes, I'm telling the why... If I can get someone on the phone.
