I Ordered Lights! Input Needed!

ok i finally bit the bullet and ordered lights for my 55. I ordered nova extreme pro 6 x 54 ( 3-10000k and 3- acentic SP?) Also individual reflectors. Am i good to keep most anything? thats almost 6 watts per gallon plus a DSB so they will be pretty close to light.

anything u want. but after about 4-6 months, try changing out the blue bulbs with ati or gieseman. u will see a difference. i changed mine recently.

for a mushy moment i really appreciate all you guys the past few weeks. Saved me money...time...and i THINK! my tank is doing great. Ill post pics when i get the lights and my first CORAL!!!!!!!!

i am ready to put my busch bucks into the economy,want to order nova extreme light for my 55 also. i was going to buy the 8x54w fixture. want clams and want my coral to take off. do i need 8x54 or would 6x54 be ok? 8x54 is 432 watt,dont want to skimp on lights but also dont want to sunburn the coral!

yes anything you want right after you remove the crap current bulbs and replace them with a better bulb

I would say just about anything as long as they are appropriatly placed and the fixture has individual reflectors Or bends to create individual refloctors from one piece (not familiar with the fixture) and I definatly agree on looking into a higher quality bulb. I personnally dont like current brand bulbs of any type that I have tried.

ge the 6x54. it has individual reflectors unlike the 8x54. its cheaper, takes less energy and has about equal lihgt output. t5s are useless without reflectors.
also, does anybody have opinions on current mh bulbs
