I ordered some more coral FINALLY...SWF had a Sea Fan!

I also ordered some clove polyps, a colt coral and my first SPS A Green Horn Coral.
It should arrive tomorrow!
My camera kind of sux but I will post some pictures once I have them in the tank, I have the places already picked for each piece.
The fan is a Gulf Red, so it isn't the kind I had before but SWF says it an easy one. 10 to 12 inches, that bald space in the very back of my tank will be perfect. I may have to play with my power heads to get the best flow going to it.

Good luck with them. I've almost purchased clove polyps 8 times within the last couple months...I want them bad but I've got no room.

i thought you were mad at me and put me on your ignore list...
I'm glad you forgave me anyway

I only had those larger clove polyps with bright green centers, they didn't grow very fast. I lost so much when my heater broke, so I have lots of space.
I have a nice space picked out to let them fill in, purple gets a little lost in my tank, but I have this one rock surrounded by red, they should stand out there.

I am sure you already know this but i will post it anyway Sea fans need shade or indirect lighting with a strong current. They need to be fed at least once a week or they will starve

I must admit that was always what I knew about sea fans too, and I have had a purple one for 4 years before my heater fried it. It was so perfect people thought I had a fake coral in there.
The gulf Red Sea Fan according to SWF likes bright lighting
and I can't find anything else on a GULF red sea fan, red sea fans is as you stated, but it looks very different in pictures from the one pictured on SWF.
I have a canopy that I removed the hinged lid off of. So there is a board across the very back creating a little shade, I also have a spray bar set vertical to push water across the back, besides the power heads..so I figure the fan should be happy there.
I am a little worried about the horn coral, I have never had a SPS coral before, I know to set it far away from any mushrooms.

Why do you have to place it away from mushrooms????

I think it was NYCBOB, he said SPS coral are easily stung by mushrooms. Since I added the macroalgae Beaslbob helped me with, my water quality is very good, the LPS corals are happy and my little lemonpeel angel isn't bothering anything...so figured I would try my first SPS coral.

I have my new coral in and set up in the tank, nothing is bloomed because it's the first day...but here they are, I will post an update when they open up. My camera isn't very good...

Very nice Flower....:)

I can't believe my eyes, the sea fan is already showing some tiny little white flowers already. The clover isn't open yet and I can't tell on the horn thing but it's a pretty neon green color. I don't think I have a colt coral, it looks like a stubby finger coral.
I will wait a few days for everything to bloom, and try taking some pictures with my phone...LOL

After I ordered it..because I jumped right on it as soon as I spotted it, I went back to make sure of how to care for it since it was not a purple one like I had before and it already said on the wish list..Maybe if enough people show interest they will get more in soon.
My clove polyps were in too much flow and I had to rearrange the whole left side of my tank..now all the coral on that side is mad and closed up for the day.
How can you tell if the horn coral is open? It is a real nice green color but I don’t see any polyps or little flowers, and it isn’t puffed at all.
