Its so tough! I just dont understand our franchise, They want fans, they want a stadium. The only way to do this is with WINS! BUT yet it seems like every year after the season we offer and give up our BEST PLAYERS. Right now as we speak, DONTRELLE WILLIS and MIGUEL CABRERA to the Tigers. I Mean why do we keep giving up our star nucleus players, when we are just on the brim of cohesion? And the ultimate goal is WINS... Its just mind boggling!
Players off hand we have given up in just the last 3 years:
Miguel Cabrera
Dontrelle Willis
Josh Beckett
Mike Lowel
Pudge Rodriguez
Juan Pierre
Derek Lee
Brad Penney
Gary Sheffield
Kevin Millar
I mean COMMON HERE!

Yep that's why what proffessional sports are all about, and college sports are all about getting to proffessional sports. It's all about money.

What an amazing day for the tigers, though!!! Now have shored up the best lineup in baseball and one of the best rotations too. And they filled a weakness in the process by picking up a 3rd baseman. If they can do something to help their bullpen then they have to be considered favorites to win it all.
Just so you know, you got some good prospects. Andrew Miller has had spot starts in the past 2 years and he is a power pitcher. Needs some refining, though. Cameron Maybin was the only player in the tigers organization who they would not consider trading during the season. He was a hot prospect who was tearing the cover off the ball in single A. However because of injuries we brought him up for a couple of weeks and he looked like a deer in headlights. Still may end up being a unique, 5 tool player.
And by the way, don't feel too bad about being a Marlins fan, you guys have 2 world championships in the last 10 years. How many teams can say that?
Seems that the tigers are trying to do here what you did there, with Dombrowski, Pudge, Sheffield, Cabrerra and Willis.

Man the marlins have seen some of the best players in baseball of today and yesterday. Everytime that we make a great squad, we dismantle it and make a ton of money. It kinda sucks because all they really do is lose the fans....

They could be doing something right...name the only teams to win multiple championships in the last decade?
Yanks, BoSox, and Marlins
Its painful, but they have a system that seems to work. Not quite Beane ball like the Athletics but similar.
I'm a Giants fan and they haven't won a WS since they moved to San Francisco and that was in the early 50s.

Heard this morning the Marlins might try to get under 10million for the entire teams payroll....At least you got some great prospects....Blame the fans, not the owners though (to a degree), you guys have won 2 world series in 10 years and still noone supports them.
