I saw this light fixture at the local fish store that I have never seen before. It looked like 4 bulbs that fit into this half sphere looking fixture. It had clear plastic brackets that held it about the tank about 3 inches. The man tald me he found this fixture for 200 dollars shipped. I was wondering what it was, He was raving aout it and I trust his opinion very much.
It also had a switch that would turn between actinic and whites.

Well since you said "half sphere", three fixtures come to mind... units made by Helios Lighting, Red Sea's Phazer and JBJ's Versaille line. Maybe if you do a search for these brands you can pick out what you saw from the pics... HTH

I recently saw a Helios 4x36watt 36" (16" bulbs) setup that seems very similar to the one you are describing. And the price was about $200 complete (4 bulbs and ballast), in the LA, Ca area.
They also have it on a few of their micro-reef setup displays. The housing almost looks like something you'd see on the X-Files.
I can check them out on my next trip, probably  tomorrow!!
