I think I got a sick starfish, what to do?

Hey all,
So yesterday I noticed one of my starfish was acting strange. In the morning I noticed as it was climbing up a wall it had one of its arms totally flopped over its back and it looked kind of knotted or twisted. When I came home from work that evening, I noticed that it was looking like it was trying to spread itself as much as possible to one side, making itself into the shape of a hand rather than a star.
Also, this morning, I noticed that as it was climbing up the glass, its underside was white and flaky, especially in the "slots" that its tube feet come out from.
Is there anything that can be done for this starfish or should I just let nature take its course and hope for the best?
I haven't checked my tank's chemical parameters yet but I just did a water change a couple of days ago and all the animals in the tank are happy (including the other starfish), but this one seems to be sick or annoyed at something.
Thanks!

How long have you had the star? What kind is it?
You'll want to check your parameters, esp NO3, as stars tend to be intolerant of elevated levels. If could also be that your star is in the last stages of starvation, as they kind of just "give up the ghost" after awhile (they starve very slowly)...did it eat well?

Eh sorry for the late reply, haven't been online for much of the holiday weekend. Anywho I made this post at work and by the time I got home the starfish was already dead so I suppose it starved since Ive never actually seen it eat anything I tried to target feed it with.
As for the other starfish that also never seems interested in any food I give it, I looked it up in the book that my lfs carries and it said it doesnt eat large meaty pieces but rather feeds on microbes and detrious so I suppose its happy without me bothering it.
