I think i have to much circulation

I have a Rio 1400 and a Rio 1100 in my tank right now. I also have a Mag 7 pump in the sump returning the water.
My tank is 65 gallons and the dimensions are 36 by 18 by 24. I am I figured i could take out the Rio 1100 pump and my tank would be fine still. The pumps are overheating my tank and it would be nice to have one less eye soar.
Please let me know what you think.

yeah you could do that but I cant really tell you if you have to much water flow or not im sure so one else on here could but if your water is overheating sometimes its easy to fix. Try using a fan and keep it so it blows air on the top of your tank or over the water sometimes that does wonders. Its a cheeper thing to do if you dont wanna spend a hell of a lot of money on a damn chiller you know?

ya thanks. I was plannin on gettin a fan soon. How much for two little fans do you think? Do they make fans that create cool air or just a regular fan?

Yeah, could take one of the powerheads out. With both of the powerheads and the main return, you have 22.6X the turnover rate per hour. If you remove the rio 1100, you will give yourself 17X the turnover rate per hour. That is fine.
Also, try using the fan idea. That works very well.

That's if the RIO's are actually pushing the water that they say they are.
I've noticed RIO seems to like to overstate the average water push of their pumps.

Not to mention the fact that they like to stop working all of the sudden. I would keep them both in there just as an insurance thing. You aren't overpowered by any means. If anything, put a spraybar on your Mag7 return to dispurse the water more evenly throughout the tank.
