Well I think I'm gonna place an order tommorow here's what I was thinking
1 Pygmy Angel ( want a Flame but this guy is cheaper
)
1 Royal Gramma
1 Bi-Color Blenny
1 Fire Fish Goby
1 group of 5 Peppermint Shrimp
1 Fighting Conch
2 orders of the Umbrella Mushrooms Polyps that are on sale
1 Green Ricordea Mushroom Polyp
That gets me to the min. order amount
I already have
1 Falco Hawk Fish
2 Blue Devil Damsells ( that I would take back to the LFS if I order)
2 Emerald Crabs
1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Sand Shifting Starfish
1/2 a dozen Blue Legged Hermits
and about 5 or 6 Turbo Snails
O Yea and some kind of clam that I got from a new batch of live rock :cheer:
I have a 44 gallon tank with about 50 or 60 lbs live rock and 20 lbs of live sand ...tank is about 2 1/2 months old
Thanks for any input

surely you are not thinking of ordering all of this at once?

That is kind of alot to add to a tank the size of yours at once, let alone for a tank the age of yours. Sorry, but my 2 cents.

yep, thats what I was thinking! Royalgramma, your list is fine, but your tank is still new. one fish per 2-3 weeks.

there is a chance that the shrimps will fight with the cleaner. If you do order make sure you watch them. :jumping:

I'm sorry, perhaps I am missunderstanding you, but getting rid of the damsels will do what? where are the damsels going?

Honestly, I've never heard of Peppermint shrimp fighting with a Cleaner shrimp? They are both in the cleaner familys, and I've never heard of either being aggressive towards each other My2cents.

Ok, your tank is neither big enough nor old enough for the sand sifting star, he will scrub your sand clean, then die of starvation. I am so sorry if this seems rude. I am just trying to provide you with a little information.

Your tank is still very new. This revised list looks good. One fish per 2 weeks at most

yea I've heard that...had a thread on this some where...I went to the LFS
and wanted something to stir the sand and help keep it clean and was looking at a Diamond Goby but the guy said my tank wasn't established enough and sugested the star....one of those impulse buys ( still figuring out what I want to do with it...I just really want a star and haven't figured out what to replace it with.)sSo what about my new list? And What do you think about the Bio Load...what would be the difference if I took out 2 fish and replaced them with 2 different fish...that wouldn't change the load any would it?? :notsure:
:help:

First off, again I am not trying to be rude, if your lfs told you to take a sand sifting star over the goby I wouldn't trust that lfs. As far as stars. Most to all stars do much better in an established tank. Wait untill your tank is more mature to add inverts besides the cleanup crew. Again. When adding new fish, unless they are a schooling fish or fish that NEED to be together, allow two weeks between fish additions. If you rush it you will encounter problems. Do you have a qt?

I honestly don't know why the lfs said star over goby??? Maybe they wanted to spare the goby, but you have a better shot keeping the goby long term than the star. Like stated above, your tank is still very young, and you should be careful about adding what you add when you add it. Your levels should be STABLE when adding inverts, otherwise you run a risk of losing them if you get a spike.

no not yet....have a 10 gallon fw tank in my sons room that I'm still deciding what I want it to be ...(qt, fuge tank, or a small sw tank.) also looking to upgrade to a 55 long from a guy at work. I would like to get the flame here cause around here flame go for about $70 and I can get so much more if I order it here. But if they'er going to die because of stress what would be the point huh?
